By the end of this course students will be writing clearly structured, interesting English essays.
Understand and assimilate weekly writing devices learned in class. Use these writing devices to write 2 clearly structured interesting English essays.
Active class participation and hand-in a weekly diary on any topic using newly learned writing devices.

13th Writing without a Dictionary – Guess the Meaning of Nonsense Words.

15th Final Essay.
Every week students must submit their weekly dairies on any topic of their liking. For lesson 6,
students will write an essay on a given subject using all the devices learned in class. At
lesson 9 students will hand in an essay of classification on their chosen subject. For lesson 14 your
teacher will give you topic on which to write during class 15.
Each class will begin with ePoints on Writingf and you will learn a new structure or writing device to develop your own writing skills and style. You will also use the Points on Writing
in your weekly diaries. You will practice grammar patterns enabling
you to write smoother English essays.

There is no text book. However, please bring a notebook to write weekly ePoints on
Writingf, loose leaf paper for your class writing and a plastic file to gather all your
papers together. You MUST bring this file to class every week.
Up-to-the-minute news items and relevant texts will be provided every week.
Develop your own style of writing and extend it into interesting and well thought out essays. As English is the language of our classroom, you will have an opportunity to speak the new vocabulary that you are reading and writing.
'Points on Writingf will be given in the first 15 minutes of each class so punctuality is essential.
