By taking this course you can improve your ability to understand and communicate in English.
While incorporating the 4 skills necessary to communicate in English, the overall focus of the class will be on listening.

For classes 1 to 5 students will review and write an opinion on the class topic. For classes 9 and 14
students will prepare questions to ask their fellow students on their presentations. For class 8
students must read a recent news item and report on it.
A review of the previous class followed by the introduction of new vocabulary. Listen to the topic of the day and answer questions.

Recordings with different accents and stories will be used in class. You will learn to recognize song lyrics with up to date songs and classmatesf songs choices. Relevant articles from the Japan Times and the New York Times will be provided
English is the working language of this classroom and you will be expected to use English
with your classmates and of course your teacher at all times. It is your chance to interact in English and communicate YOUR ideas through active listening.
Listening to clearly comprehend is a necessary skill. In this class, you will learn the listening devices and vocabulary to enable you to successfully extract the main points of a conversation.
