The purpose of this course is to enable students to clearly write their ideas in
Understand and assimilate weekly writing devices learned in class.
Use these writing devices to write 2 clearly structured interesting English paragraphs.
Hand-in a weekly diary on any topic using newly learned writing devices.
Students will become confident in their writing ability.

Every week students must submit their weekly dairies on any topic of their liking. For lesson 7 students will write a paragraph on their hometown using all the devices learned in class. At lesson 14, your teacher will give you a choice of topics from which you to choose one. Students will prepare a paragraph and write it during class 15.
Each class will begin with 'Points on Writing' during which students learn a new structure or writing device to develop writing skills and style. Students will use the Points on Writing in your weekly diaries. They will practice grammar patterns enabling them to write smoother English paragraphs.

There is no text book. However, it is essential to bring a notebook, lose-leaf paper and a plastic file to class every week.
Up-to-the-minute news items and relevant texts will be provided each week by the teacher. Reading will help you to expand your vocabulary and write more eloquently.
Gain confidence in your ability to write an interesting and well-structured English paragraph. We will concentrate on the writing aspect but you will also use the 3 other language skills: Reading, Listening and Speaking English in class.
The more you write, the better your write! Therefore, your weekly diaries will help you to build up your writing skills and help you to enlarge your vocabulary. You will be surprised at how much you can write at the end of the Semester.
